Well, I’ve been waiting for it to get super hot. And it finally happened. I feel a little sorry for Blue Grass, Iowa family. I have been doing their photos for a few years now and it never fails that the weather just does not want to cooperate for them. One year it was cold, drizzling and windy. And I know we’ve had to reschedule a few times because of rain. I offered to reschedule this session too, but they really wanted to do it. I don’t blame them one bit! It actually ended up being pretty nice as long as you stayed in the shade. Once we were out in the full sun, whew, it was hot!!!
I went to their home in Blue Grass for this session. I’m telling you, if you haven’t considered doing a backyard session, you should! You don’t have to have the most beautiful landscaping in the world. Just some decent shade. Of course, if you have a well manicured garden, that doesn’t hurt either! And having beautiful children is just the icing on top!

At the end of their session we were all dying of heat. The girls decided to jump in the pool in their dresses. You couldn’t do that if you were at the park! I love doing these at home sessions!
